Ethan Ramos has announced Workaholic, a new EP due July 10 on his Unleaded Records imprint. It is a solo release from an artist also known as one half of the Californian house duo SHIFTY.
The solo credit gives Ramos room to put his own name on the record without hiding the partnership behind him. After several years of producing, touring and building an audience with SHIFTY, this is a different credit line and a new label address.
It is a straightforward next step: a new EP, a new imprint and a familiar artist working outside the duo. SHIFTY remains part of the story, but it is not the name on this release.
Workaholic was still due the following day, keeping the focus on the date and the solo move while the music waited to land.
